Test Films

This page is devoted to “not for profit projects” and test films I have written, filmed, edited, sound-mixed and directed.

Four hours in Anerley SE London with Niquelle LaTouche, Pia Tuulia Cabble and Chantal Miller and this is what happened. Music courtesy of Soca legend Machel Montano.

A lovely read from Andrew Scarborough breathes life into an idea I cooked up watching people tap away on their mobile devices.

Cutaways is a nine minute short film shot and edited over the four day Jubilee bank holiday weekend in 2012. I wrote it and shot it with audio help from my son Nate and colleague Alicja Grymel. I created the soundtrack using Garageband.

Here are two trails I made for comedian Patrick Monahan’s Edinburgh Feel The Love stage show.

My short film Switch, made for the Red Bee We Are What We Do film competition back in 2004. Shot by the wonderful director of photography Crighton Bone on a Panasonic AG-DVX100B.

Here is a short film I made to explain UKTV’s navigation system back in 2007.

This is a film called Control Alt Delete, written, shot and edited in two days and two long nights. Part of the London 48 Hour film challenge 2004.

A fast turnaround film for the Nike London marketing team highlighting the UK background of one of the world’s best basketball players, Luol Deng. Great performance by Another Tongue’s Kenny Andrews.

A short film set to music about holidays on Lake Michigan.

My first black and white movie using the 5D Mk 2. The joy of this kind of low profile filming is the freedom you get to explore places that would normally cost a fortune to film in, in this case the Victoria & Albert museum.
The film is a parody of the classic Alan Resnais sixties movie Last Year At Marienbad and was made as part of my Film & Media degree course.

Another Michigan tourist film.

First film I ever made, you can hear the 16mm camera whirring in the background. A lovely performance from Colette Brown who went on to star in Casualty.
